Introduction
Section titled “Introduction”Giretra is a free, open-source, non-profit online platform for playing Belote Malagasy. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.
Data We Collect
Section titled “Data We Collect”When you use Giretra, we collect the following information:
Account Data (via Facebook Login) When you sign up using Facebook Login, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Meta. We do not access any other Facebook data such as your friends list, posts, or messages.
Game Data We collect your game statistics and match history to provide you with a personalized experience, including win/loss records and gameplay stats. This data is stored on our servers, not shared with Facebook or any third party.
Cookies and Analytics We use analytics cookies to understand how the platform is used and to improve the experience. We do not use Google Analytics or any third-party analytics service that shares data with advertisers.
How We Use Your Data
Section titled “How We Use Your Data”We use the collected data for the following purposes:
- Authenticating your account and enabling you to log in
- Displaying your game statistics and match history
- Improving the platform based on aggregated, anonymous usage data
- Maintaining the security and stability of the service
Data Sharing
Section titled “Data Sharing”We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party. The only external service that receives your data is Meta (Facebook), strictly for the purpose of authentication.
Data Storage and Security
Section titled “Data Storage and Security”Your data is stored on servers hosted by OVH in France, within the European Union. We take reasonable measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.
Your Rights
Section titled “Your Rights”You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and all associated data
- Withdraw your consent to data processing at any time
Account deletion is available directly within the platform. When you delete your account, all your personal data, game statistics, and match history are permanently removed from our servers.
Children’s Privacy
Section titled “Children’s Privacy”Giretra is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If we become aware that a user is under 13, we will promptly delete their account and associated data.
Changes to This Policy
Section titled “Changes to This Policy”We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Open Source
Section titled “Open Source”Giretra is an open-source project. The source code, including this privacy policy, is publicly available. This transparency ensures that our data practices can be verified by anyone.
